These are the terms that govern your use of OurCycle. They cover what the app is for, what we promise, what we don't, and how subscriptions work.

1. About these terms

By downloading, installing, or using OurCycle (the “app”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

OurCycle is operated by Elaine Salvador, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, trading as OurCycle (“OurCycle,” “we,” “us”). You can reach us at hello@ourcycle.app or via our support page.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use OurCycle. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. What OurCycle is - and isn't

OurCycle is a calm, private companion app for couples. The person with the cycle tracks how she feels. Her partner sees plain-language guidance on how she may be feeling and how to show up that day.

OurCycle is not a medical app, contraception tool, or fertility-planning tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For medical questions, talk to a qualified healthcare provider. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in the app.

4. Your account and partner connection

You're responsible for the information you put in OurCycle and for keeping your device secure. The person with the cycle controls what their partner sees - they can hide a phase, pause sharing, or disconnect at any time. We don't mediate disputes between connected partners, but we act on reported messages as section 8 explains.

5. Privacy

Cycle data is intimate. We treat it accordingly. Our Privacy page explains exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we never do.

6. OurCycle Plus subscriptions

Some features are part of OurCycle Plus, an auto-renewing subscription billed through the Apple App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android, depending on where you subscribe. The store you subscribe through (your “store”) processes your payment, and its own terms also apply to the purchase. The following terms apply to all Plus subscriptions, on both stores:

  • Plans and pricing. Plus is available on the App Store and Google Play as an Annual plan (£34.99 / year), a 6-month plan (£21.99 / 6 months), or a Monthly plan (£4.49 / month). Prices may vary by region. The price your store displays at the time of purchase is what you'll pay.
  • Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a 14-day free trial on either store. You won't be charged until the trial ends. If you cancel before the trial ends (on the App Store, at least 24 hours before it ends), you won't be charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you start a paid subscription.
  • Payment. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase or, if you start with a free trial, when the trial ends. On the App Store it is charged to your Apple Account. On Google Play it is charged to the payment method you chose in your Google Account.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period until you cancel. On the App Store, a subscription renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. On Google Play, a subscription renews unless you cancel it before the end of the current period.
  • Renewal billing. On the App Store, your Apple Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. On Google Play, the payment method you subscribed with will be charged at the beginning of each new billing period. In both cases, renewal is charged at the cost of the chosen plan.
  • Managing your subscription. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in the store you subscribed through. On iPhone, in your Apple Account settings: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android, in Google Play: Google Play → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. A subscription can only be managed in the store it was bought from, and deleting the app does not cancel it.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time in the same store settings: your Apple Account settings for the App Store, or Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions in Google Play. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you'll keep Plus access until then.
  • Refunds. Refunds follow the refund policy of the store you paid through. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple under its refund policy, and we can't issue those refunds directly. Google Play purchases are refunded under Google Play's refund policies, and you can request a refund through Google Play.

7. Links de afiliado

Em inglês:

After you accept a spell, the app may show up to three partner links to other companies' shops. These are affiliate links, and each one is labelled “Partner link. OurCycle may earn a commission.” If you buy something after tapping one, we may earn a commission from the shop.

Any purchase is made with the shop, under the shop's own terms and privacy policy. OurCycle is not the seller, so questions about an order, its delivery, returns or refunds go to the shop. You can turn partner links off in the app, in Settings > Partner offers > Show partner offers. Our Privacy page explains what happens when you tap one.

8. Signals, replies and messages

Connected partners can send each other signals, quick replies and short messages. From OurCycle 1.6.19 on iPhone and 0.5.0 on Android, they disappear from the app after 24 hours. We then delete them from our servers, and from our backups within 30 days. An older version of the app may keep them until it updates. We keep a count of what was sent, by date and type, never the words.

Your partner can still see a message in a notification, keep a screenshot or have it in a phone backup, so send what you would be happy for them to keep.

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not send threats, harassment, hate, anything meant to pressure, control or frighten your partner, sexual content involving anyone under 18, or anything unlawful. Links are not allowed, and photos and files can't be sent. Our servers check each new message for links and blocked words, and remove it when they find one.

From those versions, if a message from your partner feels wrong, you can report it in the app before it disappears, or pause messages from them. A report sends OurCycle that message, when it was sent, who sent it and who reported it, plus the reason you pick, any note you add, and your app version, phone type and language. We don't tell the person who sent it, unless the law requires us to.

We look at every report within 24 hours. If someone breaks these terms, we may pause their messages, disconnect them or close their account. We keep a report, with its message, until we close it and for up to 90 days after, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Backups can keep a copy for up to 30 days more.

To complain about a message, a report or a decision we made, such as removing a message, pausing someone's messages or closing an account, email hello@ourcycle.app. We'll look at it and reply.

You can also disconnect at any time. No one at OurCycle reads messages unless one is reported, you ask us to look at one, or the law requires it. OurCycle can't help in an emergency: call your local emergency number.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use OurCycle for any unlawful purpose.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
  • Use the app to harass, coerce, or surveil another person. OurCycle is for two people who both consent to sharing.
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the app or any data within it.
  • Interfere with the security or integrity of the app or its underlying infrastructure.

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe these terms have been broken.

10. Intellectual property

The OurCycle brand, logo, app, copy, illustrations, and designs are protected by intellectual property laws and are owned by us or used by us under licence. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. Everything else is reserved.

The cycle data you put into the app belongs to you. We don't claim ownership over your data.

11. Medical disclaimer

OurCycle provides general information and relationship cues only. It is not medical advice. We make no guarantees about accuracy of cycle predictions or any related insights. Don't use OurCycle to make medical, contraception, or fertility decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for those.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OurCycle is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of - or inability to use - the app.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't be excluded under applicable law (for example, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Termination

You can stop using OurCycle and delete your data at any time from the app's Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe these terms have been broken, or if we're required to do so by law. On termination, your personal data will be handled as described in our Privacy page.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that can't be resolved informally will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
